Are you prepared to elevate your canyoneering skills? Look no further! Our extensive course is specifically crafted to equip you with the essential skills needed for safe navigation through canyons. Spanning over 3.5 days, our program offers a comprehensive training curriculum that encompasses a diverse range of workshops aimed at enhancing your canyoneering abilities. The course is structured into blocks spread across three days, commencing with an evening session on day one. During the first evening workshop, we delve into the fundamentals of meteorology, geology, trip planning, risk management, and environmental stewardship. This is followed by a "Knotty Night" class, where we familiarize ourselves with the essential knots for canyoneers. On the morning of the first day, our "Anchors and Rigging Class for Canyoneers" workshop begins. This in-depth exploration focuses on constructing and accessing both natural and artificial anchors and rigging, ensuring you possess the necessary skills for safety and adaptability during your canyoneering adventures. After lunch, we venture to the cliffs for the "On Rope Ninja Training" workshop. This session is dedicated to honing your rope skills, including descending techniques, proper body positioning, knot passing, self-rescue, and rope ascending. You will also learn various belaying methods to ensure the safety of yourself and your fellow canyoneers. On day two, the "Companion Canyon Rescue" workshop immerses you in rescue scenarios, patient care, and evacuation techniques tailored specifically for injured canyoneers. This workshop covers rescue planning, gear selection, raise and lower techniques, pick-offs, first aid in a canyon environment, improvised splinting and litter construction, shelter building, evacuation methods, and more. The final day of the course focuses on traversing water environments, encompassing jumping, sliding, swift water hazards, risk management, communication, and the application of previously learned skills in a real canyon setting. To ensure a high-quality learning experience, we maintain a small instructor-to-participant ratio. Additionally, we provide all necessary gear, including wetsuits, footwear, personal harnesses equipped with required hardware, and group safety equipment. If you have any further questions or require additional information, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
