During this full-day adventure at the crag (not in water), you'll transform into a true rope ninja, equipped to conquer canyons and beyond. This course is designed to empower you with advanced skills and techniques essential for canyoning: Rappel Techniques: Gain an in-depth understanding of rappelling with a strong emphasis on safety. Learn how to conduct thorough systems checks, rig rappelling devices correctly for various rope types, and master the art of speed control, braking, and friction management during rappels. Discover the importance of proper body positioning and techniques for handling challenging overhangs and pendulum effects. Ascending Rope and Self-Rescue: Hone your skills using rope grabs (whether a friction hitch or mechanical ascender) and foot loops to effectively free stuck gear while rappelling. Learn the precise techniques for climbing a stuck rope using RAD systems and seamlessly transitioning from climbing to descending. Belay Techniques: Dive deep into a variety of belay methods that will enhance your leadership and protection abilities. Master the skills needed for self-belay (whether prussic above or below descenders), fireman's belay, and top belays. Hands-Free Lowering: Acquire the essential skill of safely lowering individuals using hands-free backup systems. This includes utilizing techniques like friction hitches attached to the harness, a crucial skill for maintaining controlled descents. Rope Management: Safeguard your ropes with edge protection and deploy advanced strategies such as "Creeping the Rope," Frog-Leap, and Rope-Forward for efficient canyon descent. Handline: Explore the setup and effective use of self-belay retrievable safety lines, known as handlines, to elevate your safety practices. Explore Our Canyoning Training: Our Modular Canyoning Course is tailored for those transitioning from rope disciplines like rock climbing. You can choose individual modules or the complete package, all designed for Class C Canyons in the Pacific Northwest. Guided by certified Canyon Guide International members, you'll have top-tier instruction and access to all necessary equipment for safety and learning. Reservation and Cancelation Policy
RESERVATION AND BOOKING POLICY To ensure a smooth reservation process and a delightful adventure with us, please carefully review and adhere to our reservation and booking policy outlined below. FULL PAYMENT AND RESERVATION GUARANTEE: To secure your reservation, full payment must be made at least 10 days prior to the activity dates. This guarantees your spot and allows us to make the necessary arrangements. Additionally, all participants must agree to the terms of our liability waivers and complete a participant form before the activity is confirmed. On the day of the activity, all participants are required to sign our liability waivers to meet insurance requirements. If you are uncomfortable with the terms, a refund will be provided, no questions asked. CANCELLATIONS AND REBOOKING: We understand that plans can change, but please note our cancellation and rebooking policy: Changes to the participation date can be requested up to ten days before the activity start date, subject to availability. An administration fee of $25 per person or a 75% refund will apply. Cancellations within 48 hours of the activity are non-refundable. Please note that cancellations and booking changes must be made in writing (via email or text) and are considered confirmed only when acknowledged by West Coast Canyoning Adventures. INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: Safety is our top priority. In the event of inclement weather or unsafe conditions, we reserve the right to reschedule activities. If rescheduling is not possible a refund or credit will be issued. MINIMUM PARTICIPANTS THRESHOLD: To ensure an engaging experience, we have a minimum participants threshold. If an activity does not meet the minimum requirement of three participants, we may need to reschedule. However, we can offer the option to transfer participants into a private class for an additional fee. If you do not agree to this arrangement, a full refund will be provided.
