Course Description: Canyon Guide International (CGI) Level 1 Training The Canyon Guide International (CGI) Level 1 Training is a recognized program for experienced canyoneers seeking a professional career in canyoning guiding or aiming to become proficient leaders for novice canyoneers. It provides comprehensive instruction and practical training to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and expertise to confidently guide others through canyoning adventures. Participants will learn various aspects of canyoning guiding, including gear, knot craft, anchor building, vertical movements, trip planning, risk assessment, communication techniques, and rescue fundamentals. Emphasis is placed on developing leadership skills and mentoring abilities in the canyoning environment. Completion of the CGI Level 1 Training ensures technical proficiency in canyon guiding and cultivates the necessary leadership qualities. This training serves as a stepping stone towards a professional career as a canyon guide or the ability to mentor novice canyoneers on their canyoning journeys. Prerequisites: Extended Prior Experience: Participants should have substantial prior experience in canyoning, preferably completing a technical Canyoning Skills Course or equivalent program. Multiple Canyon Descents: Participants should have a significant number of canyon descents, gaining practical exposure to different environments and challenges. Note: The CGi Level 1 Training does not grant the Assistant Guide certification. To obtain the Guide certification, candidates must successfully complete the CGI online knowledge exam, pass hands-on skills assessments, and undergo in-canyon guiding assessments. Reservation and Cancelation Policy

RESERVATION AND BOOKING POLICY To ensure a smooth reservation process and a delightful adventure with us, please carefully review and adhere to our reservation and booking policy outlined below. FULL PAYMENT AND RESERVATION GUARANTEE: To secure your reservation, full payment must be made at least 10 days prior to the activity dates. This guarantees your spot and allows us to make the necessary arrangements. Additionally, all participants must agree to the terms of our liability waivers and complete a participant form before the activity is confirmed. On the day of the activity, all participants are required to sign our liability waivers to meet insurance requirements. If you are uncomfortable with the terms, a refund will be provided, no questions asked. CANCELLATIONS AND REBOOKING: We understand that plans can change, but please note our cancellation and rebooking policy: Changes to the participation date can be requested up to ten days before the activity start date, subject to availability. An administration fee of $25 per person or a 75% refund will apply. Cancellations within 48 hours of the activity are non-refundable. Please note that cancellations and booking changes must be made in writing (via email or text) and are considered confirmed only when acknowledged by West Coast Canyoning Adventures. INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: Safety is our top priority. In the event of inclement weather or unsafe conditions, we reserve the right to reschedule activities. If rescheduling is not possible a refund or credit will be issued. MINIMUM PARTICIPANTS THRESHOLD: To ensure an engaging experience, we have a minimum participants threshold. If an activity does not meet the minimum requirement of three participants, we may need to reschedule. However, we can offer the option to transfer participants into a private class for an additional fee. If you do not agree to this arrangement, a full refund will be provided.
