Land Acknowledgment
We recognize the deep wisdom and knowledge that these Indigenous communities have cultivated over generations—wisdom that guides us in fostering a profound respect and love for nature. Their understanding of the land and waterways enriches our own connection to these environments, shaping how we explore, appreciate, and protect them.

Through various initiatives, West Coast Canyoning Adventures actively collaborates with First Nations on projects that support conservation and cultural appreciation. One such endeavor involved assisting in the survey of an underground river for salmon passage in partnership with the Siska Band. This investigation focused on Siska Creek Tunnel, a 250-meter rock passage beneath Highway 1, approximately 10.5 kilometers south of Lytton, BC. The goal was to assess its potential for facilitating fish migration and explore possible enhancements for wildlife conservation. Our role included data collection, ensuring safe access, and working closely with the Siska Band for necessary approvals.

Additionally, we are in discussions with the Sts’ailes Nation to establish a future canyoning partnership that aligns with their land stewardship values. We are also deeply grateful to the Sḵwxwú7mesh (Squamish) people for allowing us to work and play on their land. As a token of appreciation, we are committed to educating our participants about the cultural and natural heritage of these territories, ensuring that adventure goes hand in hand with respect and learning.

By embracing these partnerships and learning from Indigenous knowledge, we strive to not only explore the wild landscapes of British Columbia but also to honor and protect them for future generations.
